Automatic doors for the Medicover Hospital in Bucharest

KADRA teams proposed and implemented a complete range of doors for the new 160-bed Medicover private hospitalin Bucharest, meeting the high standards of hygiene, safety, and comfort required in the medical sector.

Medicover Romania, a leading player in the private healthcare sector, opened its new hospital in northern Bucharest, in the Pipera area, following an investment of 31 million euros. The hospital is located in a former office building, spans nine floors, and offers 160 beds for continuous hospitalization, as well as 22 beds for day care.

For this ambitious project, KADRA supplied a full range of medical doors, including hermetic sealing doors for operating rooms, lead-coated doors for radiology rooms, automatic doors for different sections, and fire-resistant doors for emergency evacuation areas.

Automatic doors for patient safety and comfort

In the new Medicover hospital, KADRA installed automatic doors for operating theaters, radiology rooms, other sections, and fire-resistant doors in emergency evacuation zones.

These doors have specific features, such as sealing on all four sides and a special mechanism that lowers and slides the panel during closure, ensuring perfect hermetic sealing. Tormed hermetic doors, designed by KADRA for the medical sector, offer safety for operating rooms and highly sensitive hospital areas. The rounded shapes of the doors and operators help reduce dust accumulation and simplify cleaning.

The automation includes a slanted top that discharges electrostatic energy, preventing dust buildup. The sensor-based automatic opening/closing system eliminates the need for personnel to physically touch the door, further reducing the risk of contamination.

For other medical doors installed in various sections, the advantages for hygiene stand out. Made from HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) materials, these doors can be cleaned with specific substances without degradation. They also provide safety, with features like U-shaped stainless steel handles, stainless steel hinges, push plates, and kick plates, reducing the risk of injury.

The door structure ensures excellent thermal and sound insulation, with the option for additional sealing using a retractable threshold.

Fire-resistant doors for emergency evacuation

In case of a fire, fire-resistant doors and smoke and fire protection curtains play a decisive role in saving lives by maintaining evacuation routes. The fire-resistant doors installed by KADRA at the Medicover hospital are technically approved (EI) in Romania.

This large-scale project involved configuring, ordering, delivering, and installing hundreds of doors, all in close collaboration with architects and builders.

KADRA has a longstanding relationship with Romania’s private healthcare sector, providing access control solutions, including doors and parking management systems, for other major projects like Regina Maria, Sanador, Ophtamax Clinics, Ovidius Clinical Hospital, and Transilvania Medical Center.
