From entrepreneurial beginnings to a scalable European model

In an interview at Legile Afacerilor, Jerome France, CEO and founder of EMI Group, reflects on the journey from building a business in Romania to scaling a model at European level.

Arriving in Romania in the early 2000s, he started with a clear conviction: long-term success would not come from selling more products, but from delivering reliable service and staying close to clients. This approach shaped the business from the beginning, focusing on maintenance, responsiveness, and trust rather than volume.

Over time, this service-first mindset enabled the creation of a solid, sustainable business, built with a long-term perspective. Romania proved to be a strong environment for developing such a model, offering both technical capabilities and the flexibility needed to adapt solutions to specific client needs.

As the business grew, questions around continuity and succession naturally emerged. Rather than treating it as a family legacy to be passed on under pressure, Jerome France chose to structure the company for long-term development, opening it to external partners and new perspectives.

The partnership with private equity investors Morphosis Capital and Innova Capital brought more than financial resources. It added structure, strategic support, and the ability to scale a model that had already proven successful locally.

Today, EMI Group continues its European expansion with a clear objective: to become a top three player in each market it enters. This growth is guided by a pragmatic strategy, focusing on countries where the Group can quickly build a strong position, while maintaining flexibility and a high degree of local adaptation.

What started as an individual entrepreneurial initiative has evolved into a broader partnership, bringing together founders, investors, and local teams around a shared vision: building a service-driven platform that remains close to its clients while expanding across Europe.
