Specialized medical doors from KADRA for the Emergency Reception unit of Zalău Hospital

The Zalău County Emergency Hospital has undergone a complex process of expanding its Emergency Reception Unit (ERU), a project that took several years to complete and was recently finalized. Following this expansion, Zalău ERU now has the largest usable area of any such unit in the country.

KADRA has been involved in this project from the very beginning by supplying and installing various types of doors tailored to the specific needs of Zalău ERU, in line with the different phases of construction.

The basement and ground floor were the areas reconfigured and expanded to accommodate the new facilities and equipment necessary for providing high-quality emergency medical care.

For the basement area, KADRA teams supplied CPL laminate doors for administrative areas such as lockers, staff rest areas, offices, and utility rooms. This type of door is the ideal technical solution for high-traffic areas, being durable and impact-resistant. Additionally, fire-resistant metal doors were installed, including two automatic sliding doors in the stretcher and cart washing area, contributing to the security and functionality of the unit.

For the ground floor, where the most intense medical activity takes place, KADRA specialists proposed innovative solutions to ensure accessibility and safety.

A telescopic door with one fast-moving leaf, one slow-moving leaf, and one fixed leaf was placed at the ERU entrance. On the same level, several doors from the Tormed range, specially designed for hospitals, were installed. These included semi-hermetic doors with metal frames, adapted for various ERU spaces such as chemical isolation rooms, treatment and resuscitation areas, and pediatric emergency units.

Additionally, Tormed swing doors with special features such as humidity resistance, ventilation grilles, portholes, metal frames, anti-latch stainless steel hinges, and handles were installed in restrooms and other areas where a durable and functional solution was required.

Fire-resistant metal doors were integrated wherever safety standards required, complementing the fire protection infrastructure.

This mix of solutions, tailored to the specific needs and requirements of each area in the Emergency Reception Unit, was designed in close collaboration with the client (the representatives of the medical unit) and the general contractor responsible for the entire project. This showcases KADRA’s commitment to delivering quality products and customized solutions for critical medical infrastructures.

In conclusion, the expansion of the Emergency Reception Unit at the Zalău County Emergency Hospital represents an important step towards improving emergency medical care capacity in the region. Optimal conditions have been created for both medical staff and patients, ensuring that the infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
