Momax, a furniture and decoration retailer, has opened its fourth store in Romania in Florești, near Cluj. With an investment of 10 million euros on a 57,000 sqm plot, the store has nearly 50 employees.

Fast and safe access for an inspired shopping experience 

Creating an entrance area for the store that attracts customers, fits well into the building’s facade, is functional, and remains safe during peak traffic times increases the likelihood that the retail facility will attract many shoppers.

For the new Momax in Florești, KADRA teams proposed two large automatic sliding doors, each with two panels (2000×2300 mm), as the store caters to furniture retail, meaning that the entrance will frequently handle the passage of large items.

Silent, efficient, easy to operate, and removing any barriers between the customer and the store, the automatic sliding doors help maintain a consistent indoor climate, positively impacting energy bills while ensuring the security of the store.

Skylights with integrated smoke vents and smoke vents for safety compliance 

In addition to the automatic doors, KADRA teams also supplied and installed modular self-supporting skylights with integrated smoke vents, as well as conventional smoke vents of various sizes.

While the skylights allow natural light to enter, the smoke vents help evacuate smoke and dissipate heat from an enclosed area, serving a dual purpose: ensuring personnel safety and protecting the building in case of fire.

By automatically opening the smoke vents, hot gases and smoke are quickly evacuated, keeping escape routes visible and protecting the people inside. At the same time, oxygen can enter, and toxic gases are expelled. In most fire cases, most victims are caused by a lack of oxygen rather than contact with fire or hot gases.

For a commercial center with a large storage area and many daily visitors, it is essential to install such smoke vents to comply with fire protection regulations.

For natural air supply and good ventilation of the interior, our teams also automated windows equipped with synchronizable electric motors, designed for large windows. These motors have a long opening stroke and high pushing force for maximum efficiency.

Smoke vents and smoke extraction Momax Cluj is an integrated project for which KADRA teams worked in coordination to automate access (automatic doors), provide fire protection (smoke vents), and ensure natural ventilation (window motors), all with the goal of creating a functional and safe commercial center.
